Alpena CRTC manages the operational aspects of the joint-use airspace used by units training at Alpena CRTC and Camp Grayling JMTC. It is colocated with the Alpena County Regional Airport, sharing functional assets including two runways. The majority of air traffic is military related. While the installation does not have any flying units of its own, it supports organizations from all branches of the military throughout the US and coalition partners.

The Alpena CRTC Community Council may be made up of representatives from the military, state agencies, local units of governments, and citizen groups. Click here for a list of current Alpena CRTC Community Council members.

Purpose of the Alpena CRTC Community Council

Enhanced and effective communication between Alpena CRTC and the Communities and organizations that are in the Area of Influence, as defined by the Joint Land Use Study (JLUS).
To hear and understand issues presented by Community, Organization, or Military.
Resolution/mitigation of issues to the best of each party’s ability.
Identify Priorities of projects as outlined in the JLUS Study.
Assist with the implementation of projects funded from the JLUS.
Enhance economic opportunities.
Protect and enhance surface and groundwater quality.
Collaboration on fire protection, public safety, and EMS.
Enhance infrastructure, including broadband to meet the needs of the Community and Alpena (CRTC).
